 Hello,

My name is Ariana Boutain and I am a graduate doctoral student in the Applied Behavioral Science department at the University of Kansas.  I am conducting a research study to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of two teaching procedures that are commonly used in behavioral early intervention programs for children with autism.  These teaching procedures will be used to teach child participants new and functional receptive language skills, such as identifying different animals, foods, and objects that are commonly found in each child’s natural environment.

I am interested in recruiting low and high functioning children to participate in this study who are between the ages of 3 and 5, diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, and have an absence of an immediate history of severe aggression, self-injury, or disruptive behavior. Research sessions will last approximately 30 min. and occur 3 times a week on the KU Lawrence campus.  We expect that the sessions will continue for approximately 9 months.  I have also attached a recruitment flier that contains general information about the study.

Interested parents can email me at aboutain@ku.edu and I would be happy to answer any further questions

Thanks!
