Looking for young adults with ASD to participate in Video iPod study (they get to keep the iPod at the end)
I am a grad student at KU and I am currently working on a study (my dissertation) where I use video iPods to teach job skills to young adults (16-29) with autism (ASD) in employment settings. I am trying to find a couple students with autism in the Lawrence or surrounding area that I could work with who are currently employed (paid or unpaid so it could be a situation where they are volunteering). The only requirements are that they have ASD (I will need to review their testing info) and are working. I do all of the work and provide all of the materials and they get a gift at the end (the iPod used during the study). This is a great opportunity to teach new job skills or improve existing skills. The study involves me filming a co-worker performing the task and then I go through and break the job down into individual tasks and add the instructions to the video which is loaded onto the iPod. The participant then watches the iPod as they do the task at work. I have worked with several other participants in various settings and it has been very effective so far. The study has been approved by KU. I have been having a hard time finding people to work with in the Lawrence area and would like to help out young adults in the local area if possible. I am looking to start immediately and it should take about 6 weeks to complete. If you are interested or have any additional questions please contact me. Also please feel free to forward message and spread the word to others who may be interested. I have attached a short description of the study.

My kids are too young for your study, but I'll forward the info on. Thanks for posting it!
