Diagnostic Categories. How much does it matter?

I'm interested in knowing people's thoughts about Asperger's Syndrome being folded into the general Autism Spectrum Disorder Diagnosis in the new version of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual.  Do you feel it's more helpful to have a distinct diagnosis?  Or that it might be easier to access services with a formal autism diagnosis?
